Approval is requested for the lease by private treaty of an area of 12,000 sq.ft. at Boundary Street, Kowloon, to the General Conference Corporation of Seventh Day Adventists. The Corporation have applied for this grant for educational and religious purposes, and they intend to construct a building which will provide a school on the ground floor and a church on the first floor. The Corporation have a school in connection with its Church in Hong Kong and the school is well run. Subject to your approval of a grant by private treaty I propose to charge the normal Crown Rent which will be $550.00 per annum and half the normal upset premium which will be $48,000.00. There will be a full restrictive covenant for use as a non-profit making school and church. The Building Covenant of $250,000.00 to be fulfilled in 2 years. The term of the Lease would be for 75 years (non-renewable).
